blogging idol: top 11 performances

Beatles night #2 was just blech. Listening back to the performances this morning on Josh and Jen’s podcast (click here to find it, they rock!), there were only 2 performances I wanted to stomach listening to again. It was just a bad night. Not good man, not good.

The breakdown:

Amanda Overmeyer doesn’t like to sing melodies apparently. She basically just screamed Back in the USSR in her raspy voice for a minute and a half. I’ll pass.

Kristy Lee Cook (pictured above) must go home. NOW. There’s no way the hot factor can still be working for her. She doesn’t look hot at all when she’s so awkward and disconnected on stage.

David Archuleta had the first or second best performance of the night. It was wonderful. But he’s so tiny, the stage is swallowing him!

Michael Johns must must must stop holding the mic with two hands when he doesn’t have a mic stand. I am so sick of seeing him do that and bobbing around. Oh, and his singing kinda stinks too. Man, I’m harsh today!

Brooke White just picked the wrong song. She should have done Yesterday or Blackbird. Whatever, she’ll be fine. But an appeal. PLEASE Brooke, stop talking to the judges! She didn’t let them get a word in!

David Cook also had one of the best performances of the night. He rocked that shiz out! After a stellar Eleanor Rigby last week and now Day Tripper, which felt like a friggin’ rock show. He is bad ass. And my new favorite! Sorry Archudude.

Carly Smithson did Blackbird and it was just aight for me for her. That song needs to be a little rough around the edges and her voice is too polished.

Jason Castro just looked weird up there. In my estimation he is only going to be successful when he has his guitar, he’s lost without it.

Syesha Mercado did Yesterday. It was kinda pretty. I think I’m just not that jazzed by her in general. Eh. Whatev.

Ramiele Malubay I love you, but please pick the right song! Ramiele has this amazing voice and that’s why she’s still here. But in truth, she has only had one great performance (her very first in the top 24)

Yeah not a lot of snark today, I’m really just ticked that so many of the performances were just a waste of time!

Predictions:

Bottom 3: Kristy Lee Cook, Ramiele Malubay, Amanda Overmeyer

Going home: Kristy Lee Cook
